2024 Chapter Officers

We Congratulate, Celebrate and Honor Theta Rho Omega Chapter’s first Diamond. Muriel became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, in Alpha Zeta Chapter while attending Langston University in 1944. She has been an Alpha Kappa Alpha Woman for over 75 years!

Muriel moved to the Chicagoland area in 1956 and became a member of Theta Rho Omega Chapter in 1970. She was the second President of Theta Rho Omega Chapter from 1973-1974. Other positions Muriel has held in Theta Rho Omega Chapter are: Secretary, Ivy Leaf Reporter, Historian, Protocol Committee Chairman and MIP Committee Chairman. Muriel is a very active and loved member of Theta Rho Omega Chapter.

Muriel’s priorities are, and have always been:

-To design, plan and promote activities that will benefit educational institutions in the southern suburbs of Chicago.

-To stay aware of the problems in the Chicago’s south suburbs and to implement ongoing solutions.

-To look to the future and plan ahead for new challenges.

“Are you living or just wearing your twenty pearls?" stated Norma Solomon White, 25th International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. As affirmed by Muriel, “I attempted to live my twenty pearls as I assumed the leadership of Theta Rho Omega Chapter. I live and believe in commitment, respect, love, trust, sacrifice, enthusiasm and just hard work. Only through these will the high standards of our great sisterhood be maintained.”

Our meetings are held on the 4th Saturday of each month, January - October and the 3rd Saturday in September, November & December.

Meetings are open to members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Proof of membership is required and must be verified prior to entering the meeting. 

Requirements to Attend a Chapter Meeting:

Visiting members are asked to provide two forms of identification, including a government-issued ID and one of the following:

• Current or past financial card
• Copy of original membership certificate provided by our Corporate Office

Business attire is required.
